Reversible Andreyha (thread, acrylic, mixed textiles; 20 x 20 in) is a layered textile portrait that shifts between recognition and abstraction. Brandi Kole stitches together fragments of fabric, thread, and painted surfaces to construct a face that feels both present and in flux.

The stitched lines extend beyond the contours of the features, suggesting movement, memory, and the ways identity can be pieced together, unraveled, or reassembled. Domestic and discarded materials become part of the narrative, carrying their own histories into the portrait. The work embodies Kole’s ongoing exploration of facades,  what is shown, what is concealed, and how a surface can hold multiple versions of a story at once.
