What's New at the Artemizia Foundation: Summer 2025 Updates

The Artemizia Foundation in Bisbee, Arizona continues to evolve as a dynamic cultural hub, and this summer, we’re excited to unveil several thrilling developments that reflect our ongoing commitment to art, innovation, and community engagement.

Devorah Sperber’s ‘After Mona Lisa’ Arrives in Bisbee

We are honored to announce the recent acquisition and installation of Devorah Sperber’s monumental artwork, ‘After Mona Lisa’, now a centerpiece at the Artemizia Museum. This captivating piece—crafted from 5,400 spools of thread—reimagines da Vinci’s iconic portrait with a conceptual twist that dazzles both visually and intellectually. Viewers are invited to experience the illusionary power of Sperber’s work as the famous visage comes into focus through a carefully positioned optical viewing sphere. It’s a masterclass in perception, patience, and play—don’t miss it!

New Mini Gallery Featuring Victoria Fuller’s “Going Nuts”

In addition to our major installations, we’re proud to unveil a new mini gallery space within the museum—a more intimate environment dedicated to smaller-scale yet equally impactful works. The inaugural exhibit features Victoria Fuller's "Going Nuts", a thought-provoking immersive sculpture that blends humor, meticulous craftsmanship, and commentary on nature and obsession. It's a delightful addition to our growing collection of unconventional contemporary art.

Construction Closure Notice

Please note: The Artemizia Foundation will be closed for construction from June 26 through July 4

During this closure, we are continuing to upgrade our facilities to better serve our visitors. We’ll be reopening on July 5, refreshed and ready to welcome you back with new exhibits and improved spaces.

We hope you’ll stop by this summer to experience all that’s new at the Artemizia Foundation. From large-scale optical illusions to nuts of all kinds, there’s something here for every curious eye and open mind.

Stay inspired,

The Artemizia Foundation Team
