AF Acquires 1971 Plymouth Valiant by D*Face

This month, a truly one-of-a-kind classic arrived at the museum’s Sculpture Garden: A 1971 Plymouth Valiant painted by internationally renowned British street artist D*Face.

Artemizia acquired the Valiant this February from Corey Helford Gallery, a Los Angeles-based contemporary gallery. The car was one of four that was hand-embellished by D*Face for an exhibition at the gallery in 2022.

The Plymouth Valiant contains no internal mechanical parts, so it was a relatively simple process to tow it from California to Bisbee.

“The entire car was actually hand painted by D*Face, no aerosol,” says Sloane Bouchever, AF’s Founder and Director. “All of the patterns, D*Face’s classic wings, his multiple signatures, and that incredible scythe on the hood are all hand done.”

“Hey Sloane. Super cool that you have the Plymouth, that was my favourite of the ones I painted,” said D*Face.

AF is thrilled that visitors and members can enjoy stunning mountain views, bring a picnic, and now – thanks to D*Face – marvel at another incredible street art sculpture in the Sculpture Garden.

Visitors can also enjoy D*Face’s work inside the museum along the art corridor. Admission is always free for members and $10 for non-members, which includes full museum access during business hours.
