Drones
Born 1996 – Brazil
Pedro Valente, whose work appears under the name Drones, is an urban artist from Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Drones' work explores the languages of stencil, graffiti, and paste-up. Since 2012, his murals and urban interventions transform city walls into vibrant canvases, layering human figures and urban imagery to reflect the rhythm and complexity of contemporary life.
Influenced by underground subcultures—hip hop, punk, goth, and metal—Drones draws inspiration from album art, film stills, and alternative visual culture. His bold, graphic style is rooted in the precision of stencil technique, creating imagery that is immediate, high-contrast, and enduring.
Much of his practice investigates the relationship between people and their environments. By working in abandoned factories, disused psychiatric hospitals, and dormant power plants, he reclaims neglected spaces as sites of memory, resilience, and collective history. These interventions challenge urban decay while offering new narratives of transformation.
Beyond the street, Drones extends his visual language into fashion and tattooing. His upcycled garments blur the boundary between art and daily wear, while his tattoo work translates his sharp contrasts and cultural hybridity into permanent expressions on skin.
Through this multidisciplinary approach, Drones has become a vital voice in the global urban art scene, continually pushing viewers to reconsider the spaces around them, the cultures they inherit, and the narratives embedded in the overlooked corners of modern life.
